Biographical Notes:

Irene C. Warshauer is an attorney, mediator and arbitrator. She serves as a mediator to resolve commercial, civil, employment, franchise and securities disputes. She is a panel member of the American Arbitration Association's National Roster of Neutrals serving on its panel of mediators and as an arbitrator on its large, complex case panel, commercial and employment panels. She is a member of ICDR's mediation and arbitration panels. She is on the International Institute for Conflict Prevention & Resolution (CPR) mediation and arbitration panels, a mediator and arbitrator for FINRA. She is a mediator on the United States District Court for the Southern and Eastern Districts of New York, New York State Supreme Court and New Jersey Superior Court panels. She is a Fellow of the College of Commercial Arbitrators and an IMI certified mediator.She was designated a Super Lawyer for 2011, 2012, 2013.

Over 40 years experience as a litigator, negotiator, arbitrator, and mediator. Representation of Fortune 100 and Fortune 500 corporations The cases involved the chemical, communication, electronics, computers, steel manufacture and power plants and included obtaining insurance for claims related to such industries and required knowledge of those industries. Served as national counsel for asbestos defendants in charge of directing and coordinating more than 35 local counsel in over 100,000 cases. Amounts at issue ranged from several million to in excess of several billion dollars. Defense of complex securities claims, including class actions.

Experienced sole arbitrator, panel chair, and panel member in over 130 matters involving commercial, business, securities, breach of contract, employment, insurance, brokerage disputes, franchise related claims, and torts. Amounts at issue have ranged from $300 million to less than $100,000. Since 2002, over 50% of my practice has been as a neutral. Arbitration of large commercial disputes, securities related claims and customer broker claims, employment (wrongful termination), franchise agreements and general contract claims. As a mediator of more than 200 matters, including a class action involving governmental entities and objecting intervenors, a software supply contract with a large investment banker, distributorship disputes, employment disputes (race, gender and ADA discrimination and sexual harassment), franchise agreements, securities (broker dealer, customer and employment matters) and breach of contract claims.

Editorial Board of Alternatives Newsletter. Demonstrates representation of a party in a mediation in a videotape "Mediation in Action Resolving a Complex Business Dispute." (Spring 1994), which is used extensively by corporations, governmental agencies and at law schools.

She has written extensively on a wide variety of legal and ADR related topics.
