Mr. Hollyer has had a broad based career covering many aspects and perspectives of commercial litigation including: Law Secretary to a highly respected New Jersey Superior Court Chancery Judge; Assistant U.S. Attorney, NJ; associate in a large New York City commercial litigation firm; and, running his own commercial litigation practice in New York City through firms bearing his name for more than 25 years. Mr. Hollyer has tried cases in both State and Federal Courts and participated as an advocate in both mediations and arbitrations conducted through the AAA, JAMS, and others.
Mr. Hollyer has had extensive mediation training in programs given in conjunction with the Supreme Court, New York County, Commercial Division, the U.S. District Court for the Southern District of New York, the New Jersey Superior Court and the New York and New Jersey State Bar Associations. He has been appointed to the Roster of Mediators for the Supreme Court, New York County, Commercial Division, the New Jersey Superior Court, Civil, General Equity and Probate, the United States District Court for the Southern District of New York, the United States Bankruptcy Court for the Eastern District of New York, and the Storm Sandy Mediation Panel for the United States District Court for the Eastern District of New York. Mr. Hollyer has been appointed recently to the Mediation Advisory Committee to the United States District Court for the Southern District of New York.

A. Rene Hollyer has his law degree from Columbia Law School, a Masters Degree in Public Affairs from the Woodrow Wilson School, Princeton University, and his undergraduate degree from Williams College.
Memberships & Affiliations
Mr. Hollyer is a member of:
- The of the Dispute Resolution Section of the New York State Bar Association, Secretary of that Section, and a member of its Mediation Committee and Ethics Committee;
- The New York City Bar Association's Alternative Dispute Resolution Committee; and
- The Dispute Resolution Section of the New Jersey State Bar Association. He is also a Director of that Section.
In addition to his service to his clients over the years, Mr. Hollyer has spent a substantial amount of his professional time serving on numerous bar association committees relating to attorney and judicial ethics. He has served as a mediator and later as Chair of the Complaint Mediation Panel for the New York Supreme Court, Appellate Division, First Department. He has also served as the Chair for the Special Committee on Procedures for Judicial Discipline for the New York State Bar Association.
Mr. Hollyer has served two four-year terms as a member of the State Bar's House of Delegates and is currently serving as a Delegate for the New York City Bar Association's Delegation to the State Bar's House of Delegates.
